Job description: The Directorate of Quality Governance, supports all areas within East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust (EKHUFT) to deliver high quality and safe services for our patients.We are seeking a knowledgeable, skilled and highly motivated individual to join the team in the key corporate role of Head of Risk Management and Assurance.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be responsible for leading, promoting and facilitating effective risk management and assurance across all areas of the organisation in line with the Risk Management Strategy.The post holder will provide a combination of subject matter expertise, particularly in relation to risk, with leadership skills to develop and drive performance, working with Senior Leaders across the organisation and governance leads to demonstrate compliance with policies, guidelines and standards. The post holders portfolio will include policies, clinical guidelines and the implementation of CAS alerts, via the management of a small team.About usWe are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with fivehospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people.   • oRelevant professional registration OR specialist qualification in Risk Management
  • oEducated to Masters level or equivalent specialist qualification relevant to the post (i.e. risk/patient safety/governance)
  • oMinimum 2 years’ recent experience working at Band 8A level within risk management and quality assurance

  • oA proven track record leading programmes of change at a senior level in an NHS environment including staff management.

  • oDemonstrable previous success in supporting and delivering change and performance with and through clinical/operational teams.
  • oProven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them.
