Here at GXO, we are recruiting for a Head of Security, based in Northampton but may require travel within the designated country and occasional international travel. You will provide professional leadership, advice and guidance to all levels within GXO, supporting all management teams and colleagues. You will be responsible for developing and implementing security strategies and protocols to ensure the safety and protection of our organisation’s assets, employees, and operations. You will provide an expert investigative, consultancy and advisory service to operational areas of the business by analysing, researching, evaluating areas of risk and devising risk mitigation plans.
This is a full time, permanent position, predominately working Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00. However, flexibility maybe required to work irregular hours to oversee security operations during emergencies or critical incidents.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £76,500.00 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Develop and execute comprehensive security plans and policies in alignment with the organisation’s overall objectives and global security standards. Conduct regular assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities and devise proactive measures to mitigate risks and report to senior stakeholders
- Oversee the implementation of security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems, to safeguard company assets and personnel. Liaise with customers to demonstrate our commitment to provide a secure network for their goods.
- Establish and maintain relationships with relevant government authorities, law enforcement agencies, and security service providers to facilitate timely response to security incidents and emergencies. Able to achieve government SC clearance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to cultivate and maintain strong relationships, building trust through fairness, honesty, and openness. Conduct regular audits and lead investigations. Develop and conduct security training programs
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Proven experience in security management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and crisis response strategies
- Sound understanding of local and international security laws, regulations, and compliance standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Relevant certifications in security management, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) would be desired
