Job description: Heaven Media is looking for an experienced Head of Social Media to lead our talented social and paid media team. If you’ve got at least 7 years senior social, paid media and personnel management experience, as well as a keen interest in the gaming industry, we’d love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will coordinate and line manage an internal team of professionals and external contractors to plan and execute content and social media campaigns and daily campaign management on behalf of Heaven Media’s clients.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a rising marketing agency with a focus on video games and tech. The job will require adaptability, a keen focus on the gaming industry and a deep knowledge of all major social media channels and marketing. Experience of effectively managing a team is essential. The candidate will be expected to follow social media trends and look to best execute social initiatives in line with industry best practice. They will also be expected to have a solid foundation in paid media marketing, and be able to provide support and oversight to our paid media managers. Previous community management experience is preferred and marketing / advertising experience is required.

Requirements

  • Social Media Management – Supported by a Marketing Assistant who will manage operational execution, the Head of Social Media must develop social campaign strategies for client activations, eSports events, product launches and sales, working with external resources to provide regular social media content. Working with client partners to maximise the reach of client messages. Syncing with in-house team to ensure global messaging. International / overnight travel to events may be required.
  • Social Media Planning – Providing regular, bespoke quarterly plans and editorial calendars of upcoming content to clients for review, according to their specific needs and formats. Formats include Team Gantt, Sprinklr and HeyOrca. Planning budgets and social strategies for review.
  • Social Advertising – Planning and budgeting of social advertising strategies. Execution of social advertising across multiple platforms, supported by Marketing Assistant.
  • Paid Media Oversight – Solid fundamental understanding of paid media campaigns and planning. You won’t be handling the day-to-day, but you should be able to provide guidance and support as needed, and will ultimately be held accountable for the performance of paid media campaigns.
  • Client Liaison – Regular contact with senior client stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Collating their content seeking regular input at weekly and monthly calls to formulate and maintain their social media calendars on a variety of platforms. Working closely with Account Managers role to provide customer relationship support, often acting as a first point of contact for customers with regards to any queries, questions and escalations. Availability to answer questions via email or Skype. Regular 1:1 conversations via telephone with clients to ensure continued trust in social management. International / overnight travel to client premises may be required.
  • Business Development – Assist Heaven Media with acquiring new customers through proposal writing and pitching, utilising existing processes and guidelines and setting up new ones in close collaboration with Account Managers. Assist Heaven Media in cross-selling additional services to existing clients; the role is a crucial one for Heaven Media which has the ambition to expand and diversify our clientele in the social space. Working with the agency team to prepare presentations and assist in pursuing new clients. Availability to assist the agency team in live pitches via telephone, Skype or in person. Occasional company travel required for BD initiatives.
  • Personnel Management – Line managing and coordinating a large team of social media coordinators, content writers, graphic designers, videographers and translators. Delegating tasks to team and ensuring deadlines are adhered to and having weekly 121 meetings and quarterly appraisals to contribute to team personnel development and support. Working with Senior Managers to develop personnel HR processes.
  • Quality Control – Reviewing marketing materials from social team and wider marketing team to ensure quality control and best practice is met, including social media copy, briefing documents, pitch presentations and eNewsletters.
  • Social Competitions – Planning a strategy behind regular social competitions. Planning and executing social messaging. Working with internal teams to execute Facebook applications for competitions and other strategies. Liaising with client teams to ensure successful execution of competitions. Liaising with client teams to ensure fair and transparent selection of winners. Syncing with in-house team to ensure prize delivery.
  • Community Management – Replying to user questions on behalf of clients where relevant. Working with external community teams. Liaising with client teams to provide best practice guidelines on community management.
  • Reporting – Development of KPIs and regular (monthly, quarterly) reports prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel to highlight key social KPIs such as but not limited to; growth, engagement, reach, impressions, spend, actions and click throughs. Includes bespoke competitor research, supported by Marketing Assistant.
  • Invoicing and Billing – Management of contractor invoices and billing using company accounting software. Working with the accounts team to manage contractor invoices and cover all team expenditure through regular sync with Account Manager, Team Secretary and the Accountant teams.

Expected salary: £45000 – 65000 per year
