About the Job

The Head of Staff & Culture at OBC, based in Oxford, enhances staff performance & development through organisational strategies. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer, the role includes resource planning, new HR framework development, & overseeing appraisals. The position champions diversity, well-being initiatives, and aligns HR policies with best practices. They lead institutional policy development, collaborate with external partners, and contribute to strategic planning. 

About You

The ideal candidate for the Head of Staff & Culture role should have an undergraduate degree in human resource management or equivalent, with CIPD membership at Associate or Chartered Member Level being desirable. Essential experience includes HR leadership, change management, and a strong understanding of UK employment law. Desirable qualifications involve hands-on experience with technical innovation and previous roles in private higher education. Essential skills encompass relationship management, planning, communication, familiarity with regulatory bodies, proficiency in HR software, and mediation/facilitation skills. Behavioural attributes include strong leadership, adaptability, high ethical standards, resilience, and alignment with the college’s core values.
