Job description: Head of Technical Accounting- £75,000-£80,000 + Bonus- Permanent- ACA/ICAEW/CA- Top 10 Audit BackgroundIN2 Consult is partnering with a true market leader with a global presence on the recruitment of a Head of Technical Accounting to join their function on a permanent basis.The role offers market leading career progression opportunities within a large wider finance function over 250 strong as well as the opportunity to drive change within a multi-billion revenuecompany.The key duties of this Head of Technical Accounting role include:

  • Provide expert guidance on all accounting matters aligned with IFRS standards.
  • Develop and maintain the Group Accounting Policies taxonomy to establish clear guidelines.
  • Implement an effective mechanism to ensure Group-wide compliance with accounting policies.
  • Coordinate and deliver relevant technical training to country teams to enhance their expertise.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and provide comprehensive reports on the development of accounting standards, including their potential impact on the Group.
  • Take the lead in addressing technical matters with Group auditors, covering areas such as PPE Impairment, Goodwill Impairment, Provisions, Share-based Payments, Acquisition Accounting, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16 standards.
  • Provide essential support for monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

The key requirements for this role include:

  • ACA/ICAEW/ACCA Fully Qualified
  • This client is ideally looking for a first time mover from an audit firm at an Audit Manager level or above
  • Strong understanding of complex accounting standards, in particular IFRS 15 and 16
  • Strong communication skills
  • Process improvement driven personality
