Principal People are delighted to have been exclusively engaged on a role with a leading food & drink retailer to identify a Health and Safety Advisor for their thriving business.

So perhaps you have recently completed your studies in Health and Safety or Environmental Health, or you may have even been a practitioner for the last 6-12 months and you are trying to find an opportunity that blends with your interests.

You may be in your first health and safety / environmental health role at the moment but feeling like you could be in an environment that is more suited to getting the best out of you.

If you are newly qualified or have between 6 months to 2 year’s experience in Health and / or food safety, this role could be for you.

The role will be based out of the company’s office for a large percentage of the role, with occasional travel to sites predominantly in the South East of England. Therefore, it is essential that you hold a drivers license and have access to a vehicle.

As the Health and Safety Advisor, you will:

• Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to support & facilitate Store Managers and Store teams in managing safety and hygiene on-site
• Join the Health and Safety Manager in liaising with external authorities such as Environmental Health and local councils to discuss how safety is managed at a store level
• Facilitate and carry out site inspections in relation to health and food safety, providing support to the teams that are responsible for carrying out safety on a day-to-day basis – including carrying out risk assessments and audits

To be considered for this Health and Safety Advisor role, you will have:

• Either previously have completed, or recently completed studying in Health & Safety / Environmental Health
• Hold a qualification or have experience in food hygiene – either through an Environmental Health Degree or a Level 3 and above Food Safety / Hygiene qualification (HACCP for example)
• Hold a full UK Driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
