We are looking for a Health and Wellbeing Partner to provide focussed support for the implementation of the employee wellbeing elements of our People and Culture strategy. The role will work with our external providers and to deliver a range of Employee Assistance, Occupational Health and other health and wellbeing services for our people and will provide guidance and advice to our managers and staff on all associated aspects .
We offer a generous pension and annual leave provision (40 days including statutory holidays), family-friendly policies and state-of-the-art campus facilities. We also operate a hybrid working model that allows staff to combine on-site and remote working where appropriate, dependent on work duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful applicant will need to develop, promote and implement sound, efficient and effective health and wellbeing practices which are in line with the University’s values, supports strategic aims, enhances employee engagement and supports high performance standards.
You will lead on the development and retention of the Workplace Wellbeing Charter, as well as the Student Mental health charter from a staff perspective. You will also deliver training and facilitate workshops and seminars, and represent the HR department, both internally and externally, at health and wellbeing projects and events.
You will influence, coach and advise managers, recommend solutions which support business aims, and in doing so, enable managers to make confident, appropriate decisions and take action to achieve their objectives and support their teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, along with a CIPD qualification (likely to be Associate CIPD) or IOSH.
- Experience in providing proactive and professional first line employee wellbeing support and advice to a diverse workforce, and dealing with a wide variety of health and wellbeing issues.
- Experience in developing HR, health and wellbeing policies and procedures.
- Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of key HR/health law and best practice in people management.
- The ability to design and deliver presentations and training interventions to a wide variety of audiences.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and HR information systems. Competence in the use of Excel to support the development of accurate and useful management information.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the proven ability to work under pressure whilst ensuring accuracy, quality and attention to detail at all times.

The appointed candidate will normally be employed through our subsidiary company BCU Support Services Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Birmingham City University. Appointees with prior LGPS membership who wish to enter the LGPS scheme will be able to do so, and will be employed by Birmingham City University directly

WORKING AND LIVING IN BIRMINGHAM
