Hours: Monday-Friday 08:30-17:00 – 40 hours per week but flexibility is required

Reporting to Health and Safety Business Partner the role of the Health & Safety Advisor is responsible for supporting the delivery of the H&G UK H&S Strategy.
The successful applicant will work to support the UK H&S Team in providing a proactive, comprehensive, high-quality H&S service within the organisation and ensure compliance with the statutory H&S framework, the DHL Group Occupational H&S Management System Safety First Framework, and other relevant safety legislation and best practice. The role will be the primary contact for H&S compliance across all H&G’s, and ensure consistency, providing a point of contact for the H&G UK Audit Team, as well as managing projects within the department.

Key responsibilities:
- All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities.
- Provide best practice H&S support and advice for H&G UK
- Monitoring H&S compliance
- Ensuring data is produced in a timely manner for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Integration and application of H&S policies and procedures in line with ISO45001 requirements
- Ensuring H&S policies and procedures are established in all areas, supporting their implementation, and ensuring standards are maintained.
- Providing administrative assistance with liability claims and ensuring all documents are dealt with promptly and correctly.
- Working with the H&S Team and Audit team to ensure findings are closed out in a timely manner.
- Co-ordinating H&S communications for PD boards
- Keep the legal register updated and ensure any changes communicated to the wider business, via SMT and Steering Groups
- Support Audit team with ISO45001 audit
- Support and co-ordinate Best Practise H&S audits
- Lead relevant H&S projects and provide support to other projects to ensure H&S is considered.
- Co-ordinate H&S Training for the H&S Team, support H&S training for UK H&G
- Any other duties as required.
You’ll bring to this role:
- A safety first attitude. You must conduct yourself in an orderly manner within the workplace, ensuring that correct uniform and PPE is worn when required.
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent – Essential
- Experience of risk assessing processes in a high-risk environment.
- Experience of Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulation (DSEAR), and The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively to coordinate and manage workflow.
- Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage with staff at all levels, and champion company values.
- Excellent stakeholder management and accountability.
- Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office.
- A driving licence is essential as travel to other locations may be required.
