We pride ourselves on our inclusive and diverse workforce, as demonstrated through our initiatives such as DHL4All.Reporting to Safety Director, the Health and Safety Business Partner will provide H&S support for EMA, with a focus on accident reporting and investigation.The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the H&G UK H&S Strategy. This role will be responsible for working to support the UK H&S team to provide a proactive, comprehensive, high-quality H&S service within the organisation, ensuring compliance with statutory H&S frameworks, DHL Group Occupational H&S Management System Safety First Framework and other relevant safety legislation and best practice.As DHL continues to grow, we’ve an excellent variety of employee benefits available! Key responsibilities:
- All employees are responsible for the health and safety of themselves and also those affected by their activities.
- Provide best practice H&S support and advice for H&G UK
- Ensure accidents are correctly reported and investigated, identifying root cause(s), and support the transition to Managers & Supervisors managing all aspects of H&S in their areas of control (accident investigation, risk assessments, SSOW etc).
- Stakeholder management with H&G UK, H&S Team, H&G UK Audit Team, External bodies (HSE, Fire Service etc), External audit bodies etc.
- Analyse accident data to identify trends and support initiatives to address these.
- Monitor accident reporting & investigation to ensure KPI’s for timescales are being met.
- Support Supervisors in the collation of near miss reports, and ensure feedback is being provided.
- Provide support for the completion of risk assessment and safe systems of work.
- Ensure visibility within Operations and Ramp
- Support SMT, Managers and Supervisors to carry out H&S GEMBA’s and ensure that corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Lead relevant H&S projects and provide support to other projects to ensure H&S is considered.
- Support H&S training for EMA
- Any other duties as required.
You’ll bring to this role:
- A safety first attitude. You must conduct yourself in an orderly manner within the workplace, ensuring that correct uniform and PPE is worn when required.
- Minimum NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent – Essential
- Studying for degree / diploma qualification in H&S, and CMIOSH – desirable
- Experience of ISO 45001
- Experience in an Aviation and or warehousing transport/distribution environment is preferred but not essential.
- Good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills are essential.
- The ability to establish a rapport with all levels of management and safety representatives will be a key requisite in being a successful post holder.
- Able to carry out effective investigations, audits, inspections and compile reports and recommendations as appropriate.
- PC literate
- Full and clean driving licence
