Job description: Seven Healthcare are seeking a caring and compassionate Healthcare Assistant (HCA) / Support Worker to provide quality care to patients in Long Stratton. This position requires a dedicated individual who is committed to providing exceptional patient care and service.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities:**
1. Assisting patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and using the toilet.
2. Observing, monitoring and recording patient’s health and wellbeing, and reporting any significant changes to the registered nurse.
3. Taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to formulate effective patient care plans.
5. Assisting patients mobility and providing transferring and positioning assistance.
6. Complying with health and safety regulations, infection control protocols, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
7. Promoting patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patients and families to understand patient conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
**Qualifications & Experience:**
1. Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker is preferred.
2. NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or willing to work towards.
3. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. A compassionate and person-centred approach to patient care.
5. Ability to work in a team and manage one’s own workload.
6. Understanding of privacy and confidentiality laws in relation to patient care.
