Job description: Main responsibilities:
- Evaluating commercial issues relating to the trading business and liaising with finance and non-finance senior management.
- Maintaining the established Group accounting procedures and policies to ensure accuracy of commercial, IFRS developments, compliance, and consistency of the Group.
- Taking the lead on all technical hedge accounting issues for the Group, its Global subsidiaries, and the parent company, offering good exposure to working with senior management across the group.
- Giving the business and finance managers your expert advice on all hedge accounting issues, around statutory reporting, disclosure issues, month end reporting issues, budgeting, planning, and forecasting issue’s and giving focus to new contracts and acquisitions.
- Performing technical assessments on proposed financial and risk management activities to ensure compliance with IFRS 9 hedge accounting rules.
Global Accounting Network have partnered with an International Trading Business to source a Hedge Accounting Manager. This role requires someone with very strong expertise in hedge accounting under IAS 39 or IFRS 9.This is a very interesting business to work for and will afford you the opportunity to bring your technical expertise to the business while also bringing an element of commercial/business partnering to the role.Skills/experience required:
- ACA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with 5+ years of PQ experience in financial or commodity derivatives.
- Practical experience of strong technical accounting skills required, particularly IFRS hedge accounting (IAS39 or IFRS 9).
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and understanding of complex trading contracts.
- Detailed understanding of derivative financial instruments is essential.
