Job description: Coventry Building Society have an exciting new opportunity for a dynamic IAM Information & Cyber Security Consultant. We are looking for someone that drives through security good practices as we expand our use of cloud technologies and take on digital transformation initiatives. The role will influence security practices, moulding the future of Coventry Building Society for years to come. The consultant will act as a guardian of our technological transformation, ensuring robust security measures in line with regulatory frameworks such as GDPR, FCA, and PRA.
Working in a product-based agile model, the role will advise on the application of security controls and policies for business initiatives, addressing any risks and implementing new operational controls and processes where appropriate.
This role is not solely about having the right security background, it requires work collaboratively, and with pragmatism when supporting fast-paced delivery teams.

About you
You’ll have a history that includes crafting and leading security initiatives, backed by a thorough understanding of compliance, data privacy, and risk management. You’ll excel in a collaborative setting, fine-tuning security approaches to accommodate diverse operational requirements and recognise and adapt to individual differences and working styles. You’ll have initiative that extends beyond technical tasks, contributing to a culture where continuous improvement in security is a collective priority. With a passion and drive to enable the secure delivery of our digital transformation journey, working with market leading cloud technologies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- You’ll be a subject matter expert in AWS and/or Azure security controls.
- You’ll have Information Security knowledge including governance, compliance, security standards, and privacy.
- Significant experience with IAM / PAM tools such as SailPoint, Okta, CyberArk, BeyondTrust or Thycotic.
- Thorough understanding of IAM frameworks and standards.
- Experience in implementing strong authentication, authorisation, and accounting controls.
- Expertise within directory services such as Active Directory, LDAP, and Azure AD.
- You’ll have proven experience in implementing business solutions and managing security requirements.
- With a working knowledge of cloud computing workload transition challenges and familiarity with archive, backup/recovery, and business continuity processes in distributed operations.
