Position: Physical Education Teacher
Salary Range: Competitive (MPS/UPS)
Location: Poole, Dorset
Commencement: March 2024, but an immediate start date is also available
Working Hours: 8:30-3:30
GSL Education is currently partnering with a distinguished secondary school in Poole, Dorset, in the pursuit of a dynamic and dedicated full-time Physical Education teacher. While the school primarily caters to mainstream secondary education, the Physical Education Teacher may also be involved in supporting students with Special Education Needs on a 1:1 or in small groups. Therefore, any prior experience or knowledge of SEN is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and challenging PE lessons to secondary school students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the PE department, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Contribute to the organization and execution of extracurricular sports activities, encouraging student participation and excellence.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and school staff to enhance the overall physical education curriculum and school sporting events.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Support students with SEN needs one-on-one if required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Teaching certification in physical education.
- PGCE/QTS/QTLS.
- Proven experience teaching physical education at the secondary level.
- Familiarity with and commitment to the principles of the school’s curriculum.

- Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans in physical education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective classroom management.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passion for teaching and inspiring students in the field of physical education.
