An ILS Engineer is required to join a market leading Innovative Defence Systems and Aviation Company. The ILS Engineer will be responsible for conducting all ILS activities on any Programmes that have been assigned to them. The ILS Engineer will develop and manage effective relationships across the breadth of the company and its customers and have the confidence to technically lead cross discipline project teams. The successful ILS Engineer will be expected to bring maturity and credibility when engaging with customers, senior managers and stakeholders.
ILS Engineer – Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the Company DRACAS tool
- Attend both internal and external meetings, as and when required
- Carry out reliability, and maintainability assessments on the system and components
- Collate DRACAS data from all appropriate sources for the serviced project
- Create Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) data for system items of equipment
- Populate any required LSA database
- Generate Obsolescence notification forms
- Identify and report trends and problem characteristics within the incidents
- Initiate NATO codification of new and revised items of supply
- Review and assess the impact of technical queries on the system documentation
- Review and assess Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) output.
- Review and assess availability models for the system or system LRUs
- Support the ILS Manager in the generation of estimates
- Review and assess availability models for the system or system LRUs
- Review and assess general purpose tools and test equipment for suitability
- Provide ILS input for technical documentation
Technical Skills and Experience for ILS Engineer
We expect the incoming ILS Engineer to be able to demonstrate the following skills and capabilities:
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and timescales
- Excellent attention to detail with high accuracy
- Ability to process high volumes of work and within structured protocols
- Excellent organisational and planning skills (ability to meet tight timeframes)
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient IT Skills and strong inter-personal and people management skills
- Knowledge and awareness of availability modelling
- Awareness of technical publication process
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Reliability, Maintainability and Availability
- Good understanding of the requirements for Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) records
- Previous experience in delivering ILS Services to Defence Standards to the MOD
- Proven experience in ILS and/or Supportability and Data Reporting
- Knowledge of analysis and Corrective Action System (DRACAS)
- Able to work effectively and proficiently either remotely or onsite
- A desire to achieve mor and with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn new skills
- Flexible and forward-thinking approach
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Willingness and ability to travel in the UK and to overseas occasionally (if required)
