Job Description

The Income & Collections Team are seeking an experienced customer focused Income Assistant to provide a friendly and comprehensive back office administrative support as well as some counter service support.

The successful candidate will spend time working in the University Cash Office in the Portland Building on University Park as well as working in the Professional Services Hubs across the local University Campuses and remotely as part of The University’s blended approach to Hybrid Working.

This post is to provide both a face-to-face counter services for students and staff as well as back office administrative support to allocate payments from several payment gateways, manning the payments line, and dealing with financial enquiries relating to the University’s student, sponsor and commercial activities.

Previous handling of cash and providing excellent customer service is essential to the role along with an excellent standard of numeracy and literacy and accounting processes. Previous financial experience in a similar role and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel are also required along with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English at Grade 4 (or equivalent) or higher.

This role is available on a permanent basis. Hours of work are 32.75 hours per week over Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ,Thursday & Friday working between 9.30am – 4.30pm daily. Job share arrangements may be considered.
