As a member of the Inorganic Mass Spectrometry (IOMS) sales team, you will collaborate with colleagues all over the world and help our customers to succeed by enabling them to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. The IOMS team delivers innovative technologies that empower researchers and industries to make groundbreaking discoveries and advancements.

We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile team member to join our diverse commercial team. As a Sales Representative you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and the continued success of the IOMS portfolio in the United Kingdom. The role maintains effective and long-lasting customer relationships, develops opportunities for strategic growth of the territory and works collaboratively to provide outstanding support and customer experience. You will be the primary point of contact for the customer, providing sales expertise with scientific solutions, and driving all IOMS commercial activities within the territory. Within this framework the successful candidate will also be handling a local channel partner who handles the standalone Elemental Analyser.

Products include: , including the MC-ICPMS, TIMS, Gas Isotope Mass Specs (Delta, 253, EA-Isolink, GC-Isolink, LC-Isolink, Gas Bench), HR-ICPMS, GDMS and OEIS.

This is a field-based role with a territory covering all of the UK and Republic of Ireland. You will be on the road, travelling to meet with your customers in-person 2 to 3 days per week (on average), with some overnight stays required. When not travelling, you will be able to work from home. Candidates can be based anywhere on territory.

What will you do?

  • Build positive relationships with our customers and work to achieve the highest levels of customer happiness. A strong customer-centric demeanor is very important
  • Manage the strategic direction of the territory; Develop sales strategies to meet, plan and expand business within the UK; and maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Be aware of and adaptable to the conditions that affect the business, including competition, customers, and markets
  • Function within the global IOMS team, working with sales, factory, marketing, service, and commercial colleagues
  • Operate independently and authoritatively. Responsible for handling personal expense budget, travel arrangements, and sales funnel
  • Manage the local channel partner and keep them accountable for their forecasting and business growth

Who we are looking for:

  • Hands-on experience working with or selling IOMS products and/or applications is essential
  • PhD or MSc Degree in Earth/Geology/Chemistry/Physical Sciences, or equivalent is helpful
  • 1-3 years’ sales experience preferred, but not vital
  • A genuine interest in a sales career
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Willing and able to travel within territory as required (2 to 3 days per week, including some overnight stays)
  • Valid UK or Irish driving licence
  • Advanced level of English
