Job description: Robert Walters – Interim Group Financial Controller 3-6 months contract – Birmingham (Hybrid working) Our client is looking for a technically strong and hands-on Financial Controller to join them in a time of transformation and change. This candidate will be working effectively with the CFO to oversee and direct the company’s financial operations, creating a solid foundation to support the organisation’s growth. The Successful candidate will be involved in an ERP Implementation and integrating new businesses into group. Location: Birmingham Contract length: 3-6 months Contract hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £500 – £650 per day

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller

  • Oversee all accounting functions within the finance team for all companies
  • Manage a team of 5 direct reports (4 Financial Controllers and a Head of Transactional Finance) who manage a wider team of nearly 25 staff in the finance team
  • Identify system improvements that can help to refine financial processes, whilst also making sure that the integrity of that information is of paramount importance
  • Ensure all key deadlines and legislative requirements are met
  • Take full responsibility for the month-end process and ensure Controls and Processes of the team are to the highest standard from both an external audit and Sarbanes Oxley (“Sox”) perspective
  • Implementation of a new finance system and improvements to the existing control environment/systems

Key Essentials of the Interim Financial Controller

  • Chartered Accountant (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • A sound technical background
  • Computer and IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
