International Partnerships and Engagement Manager at AHRC

Hours: Full time or Part time (minimum 0.8 FTE)

Location: Polaris House, Swindon, Wiltshire, with hybrid working

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior International Partnerships and Engagement Manager, you will provide management support across AHRC’s Asia portfolio and ODA work.  This will include a focus on strategic activity being delivered with partners in India, China and the Global South, as well as the International Placement Scheme. 

A key responsibility will be the day-to-day management of funding calls and engagement activities delivered with UKRIs international offices and AHRCs overseas partners.  This involves working closely with colleagues in the Operations team and other subject teams to ensure calls are appropriately planned and resourced, as well as oversight of budgetary, reporting and communications requirements. 

You will lead the coordination of international workshops, visits, and conferences.  You will also work closely with Senior International Partnership Managers to take forward scoping activity for future collaborative activity with priority ODA and non-ODA countries.   

You will help build and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including with national research funding agencies, cultural institutions and research organisations in the UK and globally.  You will work closely with UKRI’s offices in Delhi and Beijing and represent AHRC at a cross-UKRI level where we are involved as a partner on programmes led by other UKRI Councils. 

You will work with colleagues to support information and data management, strategy development, country mapping, analysis and reporting.  This will see the postholder coordinating responses to requests for information, contributing to briefings and horizon scanning activities, and supporting the development of case studies underpinning future international activities. 

In addition, you will be expected to develop a thorough understanding of AHRC’s full international portfolio and have the capacity to support other programmes and wider European activity. You will also be able to lead new priority activities when they arise and will play an important role in shaping AHRC’s international outlook, for example by supporting prioritisation exercises and developing strategic engagement activities.
