Cooper Lomaz are currently working with a client who have a need for an internal IT Business Systems Coordinator / Analyst to join a team supporting and managing approximately 280+ desktops, 36 servers and 73+ applications used by the team. This is joining a team that work on projects to upgrade existing applications, implement new systems, carry out training, provide guidance/support on applications to ensure standards are met.
We are looking for someone to take on a predominately project management / coordination role within the support team. You will be in or come from a tech support background to understand the whole lifecycle, the value of good customer service and the potential to jump in and help with some 2nd/3rd line support on rare occasions but project management & business Analyst experience will be valued above this. The appointed candidate would perhaps be someone who likes to get involved in the work as well as be a project manager, development opportunities will allow you the freedom to manage technical projects and develop the product but the delivery of the project and documentation should be the focus.
Ideally someone with experience in these key areas.
Technical project and coordination:
- Day to day management of a range of system and support projects mostly focused on IT systems and applications but not limited to
- Identifying business needs, improving efficiency, and solving existing users’ problems
- Produce quality documentation to defined standards (Prince2 based with some tailoring)
- Plan workloads and work flexibly to deadlines
- Liaise with a range of stakeholders from senior management to end users
- Research business system capabilities and provide well thought out proposals and reasoning
- Comply with Trust information governance standards
- Ability to explain complex systems and problems in simple terms to an audience with varying levels of technical knowledge
- Understand the difference between on premise and cloud solutions. Most importantly when to utilise either or both for effective system design
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
- Quality customer advice and support
- Implement system usage and data quality monitoring mechanisms
- Configuration of operationally critical systems and applications
- Windows server administration and configuration including IIS
- Strong Microsoft SQL experience including tools like SSIS, SSRS and Power BI
- A solid understanding of the importance of information security and how to uphold standards around this
- Follow change control and operational procedures
- An understanding of how all components of a complex IT system interact together from the networking all the way through to the client application.
