Job description: Harvey Nash is now inviting candidates to apply for the role of IT Category Manager, a 12-month contract inside of IR35.

  • Umbrella set up.
  • Daily rate of £550 – £625 a day
  • Hybrid working between home and an office in Scotland (Glasgow or Perth)

The Role

Newly created role within the IT Procurement and Commercial function where you will support the Senior Category Manager to deliver our clients IT Procurement strategy which is supporting an ongoing journey to become a more fully digitalised business.

Working within the Group Procurement function, you’ll be responsible for the execution of a category management approach to the procurement of all IT purchases across ensuring compliance, drive efficiencies, mitigate supply risks and drive down the total cost of ownership to Transmission and SSE.

You’ll be immersed in all team tender activities, building a Category Strategy to support and manage the suppliers once contracts are executed to ensure contract commitments are met and appropriate governance is in place. This is a fully diverse role which will manage the end-to-end lifecycle of strategic frameworks and supplier performance to deliver IT Strategy and regulatory commitments.

What do I need?

  • Previous IT procurement experience in a similar industry with a personal proven track record in executing complex procurement activities.
  • Stakeholder Management, with a strong customer focus and the ability to influence people outside your own sphere of responsibility.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, ability to work to deadlines, dealing with changing priorities whilst managing own time effectively.
  • Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.
  • Knowledge of Procurement related systems e.g., Oracle, Jaggaer, Achilles Utilities Vendor Database.
