The Opportunity
A key role in the successful delivery of IT projects into our business. The IT Service Design Lead will join a team of professionals, providing assurance through managing and coordinating the design of IT services to meet business requirements and align with ITIL best practices. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that services are designed to be efficient, reliable, and scalable. With a large portfolio of projects being delivered through our SIAM model, the Service Design Lead collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure seamless service integration and delivery across multiple service providers. This role is critical to ensure the overall success of the project objectives and ultimately the continued growth of the Leonardo business.
What you’ll do as a IT Service Design Lead
- Lead the design of IT services, working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into service design specifications.
- Oversee the creation of service design packages, including service descriptions, service level agreements, operational level agreements, and other relevant documentation.
- Conduct regular reviews of service designs to identify areas for improvement and ensure ongoing alignment with business needs.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external suppliers, and service providers to ensure that service designs are effectively implemented.
- Ensure that service designs consider factors such as service levels, capacity, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Engage with stakeholders, including business representatives, service providers, and other IT teams, to understand their requirements and incorporate them into service designs.
- Act as a subject matter expert on service design-related matters, providing guidance and advice to stakeholders and team members.
- Collaborate with other SIAM roles to identify opportunities for process optimisation and integration of best practices.
What we need from you:
Knowledge and experience of IT Service Design
- In-depth knowledge of service design principles, methodologies, and best practices, with a strong understanding of ITIL framework.
- Proven experience in leading service design activities, including requirements gathering, service modelling, and documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical service designs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and influence decision-making.
- Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality service designs that meet business objectives and customer expectations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
