Full time – Wednesbury – Hybrid – £30,000 – £40,000 + Benefits

Applause IT are seeking an IT Support Engineer to work for a metal distribution company based in Wednesbury. You will work to deliver top-tier technical IT support to their diverse user base of 1400 individuals across the United Kingdom, encompassing three prominent brands. You’ll play a pivotal role in assisting these industry-leading companies in attaining their core objectives. This position involves ensuring seamless system access across a spectrum of technologies, solutions, hardware, and applications.

Key responsibilities of the IT Support Engineer:

  • Troubleshoot and rectify 2nd line issues, providing technical support to customers and colleagues through phone, email and chat channels
  • IT Systems Administration – install, configure and retain approved telecom/network hardware and software components.
  • Proactive system monitoring, assisting in overseeing high availability of enterprise infrastructure that supports internal employee business functions, and external customer contacts.
  • Deliver expectations, working with stakeholders managing expectations.
  • Continuous improvement

You will have the following experience and expertise:

  • 3+ years of enterprise-level systems support
  • Microsoft Windows Server & Services Stack (RDS, Active Directory, GPO and more)
  • Excellent verbal communication, relaying a positive can do attitude
  • Cloud Infrastructure technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Capability of handling multiple tasks, prioritising your workload
  • Virtualisation (VMWare)
  • Hardware (Cisco UCS, HP, SAN – Nimble)
