About the role
A market leading Defence & National Security client of ours is in the market for a contract IT Software Systems Admin To join their team. In the role you will have overall responsibility for managing vulnerability and software deployment across business-critical services and the IT Estate. The candidate will be responsible for deploying security updates across the Windows and Linux estate in a timely manner to meet compliance requirements along with creating software packages for distribution, using Microsoft Configuration Manager or ManageEngine software.
This is working on a hybrid basis out of their Romsey, Hampshire office working onsite 3 days a week.
Your Main Responsibilities
- Understanding vulnerability scan results to determine and prioritise system, OS and application patching requirements.
- Using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or other appropriate tools to deploy patches to Microsoft systems.
- Deploy Linux updates and patches using ManageEngine.
- Create software packages for deployment to Windows systems using MS Configuration Manager
- 3rd line support and troubleshooting of the patching/software deployment process.
Your Experience
- Several years of experience in an IT Support environment covering both Windows and Linux environments.
- Good knowledge of MS Configuration Manager, InTune and ideally ManageEngine.
- Experience of software and operating system patching and packaging.
- Able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision and to tight deadlines.
- Diagnostic skills to troubleshoot problems with deployed patches or packages.
- Excellent communication skills as liaising with other teams and development staff will be a key part of the role.
