Key Responsibilities

  • Design, installation, upgrading, operation, control and maintenance of Windows server systems, network, voice and desktop infrastructures.
  • Implement hardware, software, and connectivity to support infrastructure services.
  • Provide technical operational support and systems administration for systems.
  • Guide system design to meet user requirements.
  • Monitor, operate, and improve complex infrastructure and equipment.
  • Offer consultation on software/systems implementation and validation, ensuring smooth service transition.
  • Act as a central liaison between the business, IT and suppliers to address complex issues.
  • Offer hands-on operational support for installed solutions.
  • Coordinate compliance and security principles, working with third parties to maintain best practices.
  • Keep systems updated and oversee the technology roadmap and legacy software/hardware replacements.

What you will need

  • At least 5 years’ experience managing support of environments running various technologies, including Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware vSphere, IBM Storage, LAN (Dell/CheckPoint/Sonic Wall), Microsoft RDS
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages, e.g., PowerShell
  • 5+ years’ experience in IT design, build, and operational support.
  • Proficiency in developing design and implementation patterns, standards, and operational documents.
  • Hands on Experience of Microsoft Windows Server (AD, Group Policy, DFS etc)
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies
  • Experience network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, wireless, DNS, VPN etc.)
  • Pro-active, collaborative team member
  • Hands-on experience with IT infrastructure technologies, including networking and hardware.
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Storage Systems.
  • Excellent written English and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver projects and services to target.

Expected salary: £50000 per year

Location: Worcester – Redditch, Worcestershire
