This is an exciting opportunity to lead a small IT team in a leading research university.
The User Services & Administration team provide support to staff and post-graduate students in many areas including user account administration, shared folders and mailboxes, print services, software support and some specialist activities.
You may take the lead in many technical projects and challenges relating to the User Services & Administration area, which will include liaising with various teams both internal and external to IT Services. You will be required to manage the workload of the team as well as your own and to perform line management duties. The team will also be on the rota for the front-line helpdesk alongside colleagues from our other support teams.
You should have substantial relevant experience of working in a customer-focused and results orientated environment along with line management or supervisor experience and a background in supporting users with IT issues and requests. Ability to support in a wide variety of equipment and hardware along with good understanding of Windows desktop operating systems is a must. ITIL qualification is desirable. The post is full-time, 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and permanent.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947 – £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
