SECURITY CLEARANCE NEEDED FOR THIS ROLE – MUST HAVE UK PASSPORT AND LIVE IN THE UK FOR THE LAST 5 YEARSWhy this job mattersBT are recruiting for a Contract Accounting Finance Specialist to join the organisation on a permanent basis located from either one of smart working locations Belfast, Bristol, Birmingham or London.This role requires someone to act as the finance lead on one of BT’s biggest contract IUS (Integrated User Services). This role will be responsible for all IUS contract financial reporting as well as providing the financials for the contract’s CGR (Contract Governance Review), forecasting including links to SalesForce and MMF (mid-month forecast), Medium Term Plan (MTP) and will be responsible for all services within IUS.Please note successful candidate will undergo Security clearance.What you’ll be doingFinance Lead for the IUS contract – reporting correctly, forecasting accurately and driving profitable change for the short, medium, and long termOwnership of contract reporting with responsibility for; month end procedures reporting for P&L and balance sheet, driving cost transformation initiatives to maximise bottom line, supporting business managers on pricing/ change controlsFocus on the following key areas: Planning, Budgeting, Cost Transformation, Process Improvements, Reporting, Financial Controls and Risk ManagementResponsible for maintaining accounts and preparing financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
To maintain financial integrity at all times and being able to support balances and identify risks and opportunitiesFinance lead for 2 x monthly customer meetings (c. 4 per annum face to face in Corsham)Ensure SOX compliance and strong governanceEnsuring SAP improvements for IUSEnsuring all IUS Open Book requirements are metSkillsProfessional Accountancy Qualification (CIMA/ACCA/ACA etc)Excellent analytical skills and strong commercial awarenessRobust spreadsheet skills (Excel)Ability to work independentlyTakes ownership for and delivers resultsStrong stakeholder management; the ability to manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally up to and including finance director level, and the resilience to challenge themAbility to identify and evaluate commercial and financial risk, and to take steps to mitigate risks and/ or to drive value addDemonstrate creative thinking and innovation with an ability to convey the complex in a simple and meaningful mannerConstantly challenging the status quo; continually seeks out best practice with regards to financial reporting policy and practice, ensuring consistent accounting policy and treatmentSelf-motivated with a high degree of initiative and responsibilityOur leadership standardsLooking in:
