Mercer Portugal is seeking candidates for the following position based in Lisbon:

JUNIOR ACTUARIAL ANALYST – UK market (9 months internship)

What can you expect?

  • Be an integral part of an exciting project, were we support our UK Wealth business;
  • Work as part of a team supporting more experienced analysts and project managers in all aspects of the Pension Plans & Retirement area;
  • Work directly and in a daily basis with the UK-based consultants;
  • As a Junior Actuarial Analyst you will be part of the Individual Calculations Team, where you will look after upcoming pensions for members approaching their retirement by providing them the most recent figures so they can plan their future with the highest confidence possible. Our team receives the requests, validates the existent data, queries any outstanding items, performs the calculation and prepares a memo/letter to the member.

We will count on you to:

  • Perform actuarial calculations;
  • Work with Data and Risk Analysis;
  • Report production;
  • Collaborate with client and project teams;
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and to the high standards required, with the help of the more senior colleagues.

What you need to have:

  • Degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Sciences, Management, Economics or similar;
  • Ability to work along different cultures;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment;
  • Lean and Customer Service mind-set;
  • Aptitude for meticulous work and attention to detail;
  • Intermediate or Advanced (B2 or C) knowledge in English;
  • Strong Communication skills;
  • Strong command of Excel.
