A global FMCG Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Junior Packaging Technologist to join their team on a Hybrid working basis.

The Packaging Technologist will be responsible for performing and reporting the necessary quality and analytical testing required to validate recyclable packaging solutions. You would also work closely with the team members to support in key areas to improve business processes and support sustainability and compliance of packaging.

This opportunity will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to work with a broad range of packaging formats and do some UK / European travel.

Packaging Technologist responsibilities include:

Coordinate testing of products and packaging following agreed protocols.

Set up trial requests and documentation in collaboration with Sustainability and Industrialisation managers.

Capturing, recording, and presenting analytical results in required format, maintenance of accurate records.

Timely reporting of consolidated results and trends to the functions concerned.

Reporting and investigating abnormalities (root cause analysis).

Provide support for the creation, maintenance, and communication of comprehensive packaging instructions, including visual guides, for site products to all co-manufacturers and internal warehouse.

Ensure the relevant packing instructions are in place and there are no issues/complaints related to incorrect instructions.

Support the Industrialisation team by attending trials, supervising routine production or new packaging format trials.

Support the development and review of pallet plans for new and existing products to ensure the most effective and efficient configuration is being used.

You will ideally be degree qualified / equivalent within a science or technology discipline with a strong analytical mindset and have former experience working as a Packaging Technologist within an FMCG Food / Personal care Manufacturing environment.
