Job Description

Job title: Lead DevOps Engineer – AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes

Company: Avanti Recruitment

Job description: Lead DevOps Engineer – AWS Terraform Kubernetes

I’m working with a rapidly growing multinational cybersecurity start-up which has seen 5x growth in the last year, to recruit a Lead DevOps Engineer to take ownership of their platform.
Their AI-powered Cyber Security platform is now used by over 100 companies including Fortune 500 organisations.

You’ll play a key role in shaping and optimising their cloud infrastructure, leveraging your expertise in AWS, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and infrastructure-as-code to drive the success of their software delivery pipelines. Their entire infrastructure is already either containerised and running in Kubernetes clusters, or is deployed in AWS (Lambdas, S3 and similar). The vast majority of infrastructure is managed as infrastructure-as-code using terraform and deployments managed using Jenkins for CI/CD.

In your initial 3-6 months in this role you will be taking ownership of their DevOps tooling and processes from their Software Development Manager who currently manages their DevOps approach, filling in the gaps of infrastructure not yet managed in Terraform and looking for ways to continue to modernise and scale their systems. They work with a Microservice architecture and as they continue growing there is a lot more that could be automated to improve the reliability and scalability.

Key skills to be considered include:

  • AWS Cloud Platforms – design and build scalable and secure AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, and optimising costs.
  • CI/CD – using Jenkins to automate build, test and deployment processes.
  • Containerisation and Orchestration – using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) – using Terraform to provision infrastructure for scalability and standardisation.
  • Security – Implementing security best practices including performing regular security audits, vulnerability assessments and patching.

You will need the ability to work in a small and growing company with a proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of platforms and problems.

Please APPLY TODAY for immediate consideration. They are looking to move quickly and need someone to start in the next 4-6 weeks.
