Job description: Our client a large multinational aerospace company are seeking a Lead Software Developer to Join their growing team based in Yeovil.This role will be primarily responsible for the analysis, design and delivery of solutions to meet programme, business and customer requirements, applying engineering expertise to solve complex engineering problems and leading, inspiring and developing engineering teams.Role overviewYou will be responsible for designing technical solutions and providing software development and testing of those solutions, ensure adherence to project processes and software development practices, whilst supporting system test and integration activities and leading a moderate sized team of software developers and being responsible for the required deliverables.Essential Skills· Experience of the software development lifecycle and processes (e.g. design, coding, unit testing), and tools (e.g. UML design tools, code IDEs)· Experience with desktop-based applications such as C++ or Java· Windows or Linux O/S· Object-oriented design/development including UML, SysML or XML· Estimating and reporting progress· Planning, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work of the team· Liaising with multiple stakeholders and reporting on progress· Coaching more junior staff in software development, and leading a team of software developers, while being responsible for the required deliverablesPlease apply below!
