Brooklands Museum, in Weybridge, Surrey is on the 32-acre site of the world’s first purpose-built motor racing circuit and the most productive aircraft factories in Europe in the twentieth century. The stories of motor sport and aviation at this site are bound together from the beginning and share key themes of innovation, entrepreneurship and outstanding human endeavour. We are an independent charity and we welcome over 160,000 visitors each year including over 13,000 school students as part of our award-winning learning programme.

Brooklands Museum is recruiting a new Learning and Engagement Officer to join our current team to who collectively lead, manage and develop STEM educational opportunities and activities through a busy and successful programme of workshops for school and college groups in term time, families during school holidays and on event days, and uniformed groups visiting outside school hours., you will be focussed on meeting the needs of our visitors, and ensuring that our STEM programme for educational groups, uniformed groups and families reflects the interpretation themes based in our collection, and realises the Brooklands Museum vision and purpose. You will be responsible for the Learning & Engagement Facilitators, Holiday Family Activity Facilitators, occasional freelancers and volunteers.
We are looking for the right person who believes in our vision – Inspiring people to shape the future through Brooklands’ history of innovation and endeavour – and translates this into all aspects of the role. Building on our inspirational heritage of innovation and risk taking, we seek to connect people with our story, finding connections between the past and the present – encouraging everyone to think differently about science, engineering, motorsport and aviation. We work in partnership with Bourne Education Trust and are fortunate to have a seconded teacher join the team once a week during term times to support our learning programmes. This has been vital as we have developed the Brooklands Innovation Academy. In 2023 this work was recognised when we won the Museum & Heritage Award for Learning Programme of the year. Brooklands Museum has an award-winning Learning Programme that delivers to 13,000 school students each year. These are interactive sessions that help bring learning alive outside the classroom, giving meaning to the lessons they are taught in class and provide valuable experiences that will help shape their future.
