Full or part time (21 to 35 hrs/wk), permanent

Flexible place of work options available (an expectation of six days pa in Horizons office, Reading)

Salary circa £46,000 FTE pa plus benefits

Right now, we need you to join our team as we grow our academic presence in both teaching and research and further develop our sustainability agenda and curriculum. UCEM’s exciting new programmes require exciting new talent. Key skills and experience in the UCEM’s growth areas that we are looking for are; 

Construction Management / Quantity Surveying

  • Able to support the development and launch of new programmes, most specifically new apprenticeships;
    • L4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician
    • L6 Construction Quantity Surveyor
  • Ideally have a blend of industry and academic experience, although we would be particularly keen to hear from experienced construction quantity surveyors or construction managers looking to move into teaching and research. 

Key subject areas include; 

  • Measurement and Costing
  • Financial Control
  • Contract Practice
  • Commercial Management
  • Risk Management 

Whilst our current focus is on recruiting within this specialism, we are also always interested in hearing from experienced academics within built environment disciplines. 

This is a key academic position within the School of the Built Environment, delivering, developing and monitoring the performance of postgraduate and/or undergraduate modules within a specific subject discipline. In summary you will: 

  • Provide high quality learning, teaching and assessment;
  • Support and manage the development and delivery of modules;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development through scholarly activity, research, industry liaison, and engagement with UCEM staff development activities.
