Lecturer – Creative Writing – Poetry (Part-time) at Bath Spa University
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Lecturer Creative Writing – Poetry to design and deliver excellent teaching across a range of undergraduate and postgraduate poetry modules for new and developing poets. You will engage in research and scholarly activity, and contribute to course administration, curriculum planning and development.
This is a part-time, (0.6 FTE) 12-month fixed term contract role.
About the Role
Within this role you will contribute to undergraduate teaching in introductory poetry and final-year projects, as well as postgraduate manuscript supervision for poets on the MA Creative Writing programme. The role also involves managing modules and assessments via the University’s virtual learning environment, supporting programme development, and engaging in key activities such as student recruitment and open days.
About You
- A significant track record as a published poet
- A good first degree in a relevant discipline
- Recent, successful experience of university level teaching in this subject area
- Recent, successful experience of university level teaching in this subject area and/or experience in running professional workshops for aspiring writers
- A higher and/or research degree in a relevant discipline
- Experience of writing successful funding proposals/applications
- Successful track record of raising funds
- Fellowship of the HEA
Additional Information
Salary Grade 8s (part-time 0.6 – 12 month fixed term contract) (£26,476 – £28,041 per annum) (£44,128 – £46,735 pro rata)
The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
This is a part-time 0.6FTE, fixed term 12 month role.
