Job Description
De Montfort University Dubai is seeking an experienced and motivated academic to join the Faculty of Business and Law as a Lecturer in Digital Marketing & Technology. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about delivering high-quality, practice-oriented education while contributing to the academic and professional growth of a diverse student body.
As a Lecturer, you will play a key role in shaping the delivery of business and marketing programmes, with a strong emphasis on innovation, technology integration, and real-world industry relevance. You will also engage in curriculum development, student support, and collaborative academic initiatives across the faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and innovative lectures, seminars, and workshops across undergraduate and postgraduate modules in digital marketing and related areas. Teach core topics including Digital Marketing, Advertising & PR, Social Media Marketing, Market Research & Analytics, Green Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communication, and Brand Strategy.
- Support student learning through academic mentoring, project supervision, and assessment feedback.
- Participate in curriculum development and the design of new modules and programmes aligned with industry needs and emerging trends.
- Engage with local and international stakeholders to build meaningful partnerships and industry engagement opportunities.
- Contribute to faculty activities including student recruitment, orientation, quality assurance, and community outreach.
- Conduct scholarly and/or industry-focused research with the potential for publication and income generation.
- Perform administrative and academic duties, including module leadership, course reporting, and faculty board participation.
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
- A Master degree in Digital Marketing, Advertising & PR, Communication, Branding, or a closely related discipline (Required)
- A PhD/DBA in a related field is preferred (Desirable)
- UK-issued postgraduate or doctoral qualifications are an advantage
Experience:
- Ideally 2–4 years of teaching experience in higher education, preferably within a UK-aligned curriculum (Essential)
- Experience delivering digital marketing courses to full-time or part-time students (Essential)
- Evidence of curriculum development and innovation in teaching methods (Essential)
- Experience teaching/training corporate learners or executive students (Desirable)
Subject Expertise:
Strong knowledge and teaching ability in at least four of the following areas:
- Digital Marketing
- Social Media Strategy
- Advertising & PR
- Market Research & Analytics
- Green or Sustainable Marketing
- Integrated Marketing Communication
- Brand Strategy and Communication
Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to present content using varied teaching methods and digital platforms
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within diverse academic teams
- Commitment to student mentorship, inclusive teaching practices, and academic excellence
Research & Scholarship:
- Interest or experience in publishing research in international refereed journals (Desirable)
- Willingness to contribute to the faculty’s scholarly, consultancy, or income-generating activities
- Experience in preparing or contributing to successful research or funding bids is a plus
