Lecturer in Fashion Journalism and Content Creation at University of the Arts London, London College of Fashion

Job Description

The opportunity
University of the Arts London (UAL) is looking for an academic practitioner to join our Fashion Communication Programme as a Lecturer in Fashion Journalism and Content Creation.

You will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, and on-going scholarship on our BA (Hons) Fashion Journalism & Content Creation course. This course is designed to equip students with both the skills and knowledge they need to work in the exciting and fast-moving fashion and media industries.

You will stay abreast of research and other developments in Fashion Journalism, ensuring that the curriculum stays up to date with any advancements in the subject. This will require you to utilise your subject expertise and understanding to keep the curriculum at the forefront of critical creative and professional practice.

In addition to this, you will conduct formative and summative assessments and engage with student feedback processes to enhance the student experience. You will also be responsible for administering both academic and pastoral support to students, monitoring progress and attendance and maintaining appropriate records.

About you
You will possess a degree in Fashion Journalism or an associated subject, along with evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Fashion Journalism.

You will need previous experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment, as well as a familiarity with debates and research related to decolonising the curriculum and awarding gaps within the HE Sector.

You will be a personable individual who can demonstrate a commitment to understanding the range of students’ experiences and will consider equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of your teaching and assessment.
