Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Building Surveying at Sheffield Hallam University

Job Description

Sheffield Hallam University is one of the UK’s leading providers of post and undergraduate education in the fields of Construction and Surveying. Our courses in this area are very well regarded by students and employers alike. The undergraduate Building Surveying course received a 100% NSS (National Student Survey) overall satisfaction rating for both 2021 and 2022.

We are looking for an inspirational Lecturer or Senior Lecturer with a commitment to the enhancement of our curriculum, teaching, and student experience to join our successful Building Surveying team. You will be expected to undertake teaching and administrative duties on our undergraduate, postgraduate, and business to business programmes using your practical experience to inspire students.

The areas of the curriculum which we are looking for expertise include:

  • Contract Administration
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance, especially Party Wall and Building Regulations
  • Building Inspection and Pathology
  • Fire Safety

For this post there will be opportunities to contribute into additional areas of the curriculum, including Project Management, Building Information Modelling and Conservation for the successful candidate. Please specify within your application any other area(s) of interest.

You will have the ability to inspire, motivate and connect with a range of stakeholders including students, colleagues, and external partners. The ideal candidate for this position will have substantial professional experience and hold a MRICS/MCIOB Chartered status.
