Lecturers in Construction Project Management (Education only) at Queen’s University Belfast

Job Description

The successful applicants will form part of the new team which will develop and deliver the Construction and Project Management (CPM) MSc programme in GIFT City, Gujarat, India. The CPM programme will be based on the Belfast-based Construction and Project Management MSc which has been running successfully for over 15 years.

The successful applicants will have experience in construction and project management, with a background in practice or teaching in several areas as detailed in the Candidate Information.

The Lecturers will be expected to deliver and manage several programme modules and to develop teaching and learning techniques and pedagogical practice in response to industry developments and student feedback.

About the person:

Successful applicants must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

Essential Criteria:

  • Honours degree in Management, Architecture, Building, Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline (minimum equivalent 2.1).
  • Significant, relevant experience in the construction industry in practice, research or education in several of the areas listed in the Candidate Information.
  • Evidence of teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level teaching, or industrial training activities, including assessment.
  • Evidence of ability to develop content and teach in several areas listed in Candidate Information and willingness to teach outside core areas of expertise.
  • Proven ability to present complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
  • Commitment to contribute to the growth of the QUB programmes in GIFT city.
  • Willingness to travel within India for periods of up to two weeks for student recruitment for the GIFT city and Belfast CPM programmes.
  • Willingness to travel to Northern Ireland for periods of up to three months in connection with teaching or research duties.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Successfully completed PGCHET or an equivalent teaching qualification.
