We’re a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we’re not done yet.The roleWe’re currently recruiting for a UK qualified solicitor to join our Outsourcing Legal team to deliver high quality commercial outsourcing legal advice and manage legal risk for the Phoenix Group.You will provide advice on a wide range of outsourcing and commercial contract matters, addressing the commercial and strategic needs of the business while protecting the interests of the Phoenix Group. You will use your influencing skills, judgement and a pro-active approach to interact with colleagues across the Group at a variety of levels You will be a team player and sometimes work as part of a project. Our lawyers are expected to be active members of the Legal and General Counsel Function and take a keen interest in the wider business and their stakeholders.Key responsibilities
- Supporting the Outsourcing Legal team to grow and develop as a Centre of Excellence within the business
- Providing clear and concise legal advice to the business on a variety of legal, technical and commercial matters
- Drafting, negotiating and managing group-wide outsourcing and commercial contracts
- Providing input to group-wide projects to ensure risks are managed
- Working with internal and external stakeholders including senior and executive management
- Use of project management skills to ensure timely delivery of solutions to the business, including managing relationships between external legal advisers and internal business teams.
- Being comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders to ensure risks are understood and managed
- Proactively keep abreast of legal changes and legislative updates to support the Phoenix Group
- Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of products and propositions offered by the Phoenix Group
What are we looking for?Essential
- Qualified solicitor regulated by SRA or Law Society of Scotland
- Outsourcing experience
Desirable
- Financial Services experience
