Job description: The business is currently going through a period of high volume M&A activity so the Legal Counsel will be involved with overseeing large parts of these projects, handling due diligence, managing external counsel as well as advising internal stakeholders. In addition to this, there will be the opportunity to get involved in the drafting & negotiation of a range of commercial agreements, and provide other ad-hoc legal advice to all areas of the business.The client believes that the position requires a qualified lawyer (in the UK, or other Commonwealth jurisdictions) with at least 1 year’s PQE, but applications from all levels will be considered on merit. It is critical that you possess previous experience of M&A work, any commercial contracts experience would be a bonus. This is a small legal team so whilst there will plenty of support provided, there will always be times when you do have to show initiative and operate relatively independently.Ideally you will be available to commence the job immediately, but the business can potentially wait until May for the right person to start.No sponsorship is available for this position.
