Job Summary
The opportunity is to join the Legal Entity Control (LEC) team in London as part of Global Finance and Business Management. The LEC team are based in London and Mumbai and are primarily responsible for the oversight of legal entities in the UK and ensuring that a strong control environment exists as it relates to all businesses, products and operational areas that impact the legal entity financial statements.
As a Legal Entity Control Associate, you will be aligned to a key regulated UK legal entity, as well as being involved in centralised projects to support the wider team. You will have the opportunity to develop a broad understanding on the following:
- The legal entity’s principal activities, businesses within the entity and related products.
- The month end close procedures including validation of monthly financial results and reporting to management.
- Standalone regulatory returns and management reports, including monthly MIS reporting, Board reports, Management Committee reports.

Job Responsibilities
- Manages the month end close procedures for a key regulated UK legal entity, including P&L monitoring, FX trade out and oversight of a variety of month end controls.
- Reviews of the legal entity financial results and coordination with other Finance stakeholders to understand key drivers and prepare legal entity commentary.
- Preparations of monthly and quarterly financial reports and presentation to senior management.
- Identifies and drives enhancements to current processes and controls.
- Partners with other departments in the bank including Product Control, Financial Control, Firmwide Financial Reporting, Tax and UK Regulatory Reporting, developing and fostering good working relationships.
- Supports cross entity projects and initiatives for the wider LEC team.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Ability to manage and take responsibility for own work, producing reliable, high-quality outputs to an agreed timeline. Good task management skills and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical ability, being able to discuss legal entity and business results and issues with senior management and key stakeholders across the Firm.
- Excellent communication and presentational skills and a track record in developing good working relationships.
- Attention to detail and a control focused mindset at all times.
- Solid understanding of investment bank financial accounting and products.
- Qualified accountant (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA etc.).
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience of the Firm’s ledger and consolidation platform (SAP, CDGL and BPC).
- Advanced Excel skills and ideally understanding of process enhancement tools such as Alteryx & Tableau.
- Working knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
