Job description: Airband are recruiting a legal Office as part of their Finance Division.You will offer first class Support the business in the development, implementation and maintenance of its regulatory and compliance strategy and activities, providing legal advice and guidance as required. The role offers variety allowing you to play a meaningful role in the delivery of key projects within the division.A Permanent position this role will be offered as a Hybrid working model, reporting into our Droitwich Head Office.More about Airband:Airband is an internet service provider bringing highspeed broadband to rural communities across the regions that we operate. - Act as a trusted business partner to the SMT, providing actionable guidance and advice to cross-functional stakeholders on relevant regulatory aspects of the business.
- Provide legal assistance in resolving disputes and conflicts, data protection and privacy issues, and co-ordinate the involvement of external advisors in the event of legal proceedings.
- Contribute to the improvement in quality of legal services by providing information, leadership, defining policies and training the business on legal developments and legal issues.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with telecoms regulations and industry standards and certifications.
- Collaborate with other colleagues on our engagement strategy and contribute to the development of company policy on regulatory matters.
- Lead or support internal and external regulatory meetings.
- Manage responses to regulatory communications, government enquiries and consultations, particularly with respect to Ofcom, DSIT and BDUK, Wholesale Fixed Telecoms Market Review where relevant.
- Lead on creation of relevant compliance policies, overseeing the maintenance and management of such policies.
- Lead and/or contribute to improvement or development projects as necessary.
- Champion Airband’s Values and help to drive a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
What are we looking for?Essential Experience: Law degree or part-qualified lawyer
- Deep understanding of UK telecoms law and regulation (including Communications Act and Telecoms Security Act).
- Inhouse or consultant or law firm experience advising in the telecoms industry.
- Proven knowledge of commercial law.
- Experience of managing regulatory compliance.
- Solutions orientated and able to simplify complex matters.
- Self-sufficient, comfortable with working autonomously as well as in cross-functional teams; acts as business adviser to management.
- Ability to multitask and to work calmly and quickly under pressure, high energy levels and strong work ethic.
- Solid writing and drafting skills, utilising legal terms accurately, pragmatically and inventively.
- Ability to manage upwards, keeping team informed about issues, able to present clearly to stakeholders, enabling others to understand the key facts and issues.
Salary will be dependent on professional experience.
