If you are unable to attend we will look to record and/or share highlights from the session.What you can expect from the Early Careers Programme at Balfour BeattyAs a Logistics Graduate you’ll grow your technical and leadership skills and start your journey towards becoming an industry expert over two years. You’ll enjoy wide exposure and gain increased responsibility. You’ll work with experts across every area of our industry.Key role responsibilities will include
- Support the delivery and management of a sub-section of logistics resource streams
- Support the Logistics team with day-to-day operations on the project, highlighting any challenges, concerns, and successes. Including identifying key risks and opportunities regarding any resource stream that you manage
- Ensure HSES targets and standards are maintained
- Oversee all movements of resources to and from site efficiently and ensure associated records are kept and managed appropriately in a digital manner
- Ensure that company standards / procedures and processes are implemented and maintained
- Extract resource requirements from construction programmes, and engage with Operations team, to understand resource requirements to meet the programme and ensure this is communicated to the supply chain.
- Attend relevant operations, commercial and supply chain meetings for the resource streams you are coordinating.
- Provide Operations, Commercial, Site Support and Finance teams with data to assist and improve right first time on the project.
- Work and communicate effectively with site team and wider BB operational teams to ensure logistical needs are being met and Logistics processes are being adhered to.
We have opportunities to support projects in the North West and South East.Please note our North West based role will have a secondment to gain experience initially to work away from home with subsistence support in the South East. This will help you to gain initial experience from existing Highways Construction projects before supporting new projects in the North West (Manchester and/or Penrith).What we expect from you
- A minimum of a 2:2 degree
- Be proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite (with a particular focus on Excel) and comfortable learning and operating new digital systems.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively to different audiences
- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Eligibility to work and live in the UK at the time of joining
- Full UK Driving Licence
