A Leading Manufacturer based in Barnsley are looking for a Logistics Manager to lead the operation managing team of people, with the purpose of co-ordinating the logistics operations, including inventory management, distribution, shipping, receiving, and coordinating with production teams to ensure timely delivery of products to global customers.

Responsibilities of the Logistics Manager include:

  • Oversee and manage all logistics operations, including inventory management, shipping and receiving, and coordinating with production teams to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Develop and implement warehouse policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Manage logistics budget
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of products
  • Ensure sound coordination with multidepartment leads (Supply Chain Manager and Customer Services) to efficiently rotate stock and drive turnover to improve output
  • Monitor and constantly seek to improve KPI’s to maximise output and profit for the business
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements related to logistics operations

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in logistics management in a manufacturing environment ideally within process manufacturing or similar
  • Hold a H&S certification in IOSH as a minimum requirement
  • Have Logistics Planning experience to maximize efficiency for cost and service delivery to customer
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and train warehouse staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and customers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement warehouse performance metrics
  • Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
