We have a fantastic opportunity for a Logistics Manager to join our talented Highways team in Luton and become part of our success. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team and help us deliver successful projects. You should have experience in Supply Chain Management including management of customers and suppliers.
What you’ll be doing
- Act as the principal liaison with the projects resource supply chain, across the following functional areas; aggregates, concrete, plant, haulage, site vehicles, storage operations and labour.
- Ensure all resources are moved to and from site efficiently and that associated records are managed and kept digitally.
- Ensure and enforce a digital delivery management system.
- Maintain and implement company standards, procedures, and processes.
- Provide accountability for site works using internal management systems such as BIM, AIMS, Msite.
- Extract resource requirements from construction programmes, including advanced resource forecasts and ensure these are made available to the respective supply chain.
- Understand project plans and schedules. Plan short and medium schedules relating to resourcing, with personal input on the estimation/resource required (labour, materials, plant).
- Work closely with procurement, commercial and site support teams to understand the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process.
- Liaise with finance and commercial to develop, implement, and manage a process for accurately capturing real-time resource cost; this process will be utilised to inform the construction performance meetings.
Who we’re looking for
- A degree level qualification in Supply and Logistics or 5+ years of experience or knowledge in logistics and supply or Construction Logistics from the shop floor level upwards.
- Risk and opportunity management experience, including the implementation of change programmes.
- Ability to communicate effectively to ensure customer relationships are managed, in addition to planning and organisational skills to deliver operational excellence and efficiency.
- Effective leadership skills, able to lead, influence, negotiate and communicate with others to deliver targets are required.
- Financial awareness is required to deliver targets, with a desire to continuously improve safety and sustainability performance.
- Knowledge and understanding of logistics management including improvement techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite and comfortable learning and operating new digital systems.
