Mission Aviation Fellowship International (MAFI) is a non-profit charity organization dedicated to providing aviation services to support humanitarian missions and outreach efforts around the world. MAFI is committed to digital transformation to enhance its efficiency and impact in serving communities in need.

MAFI are embarking on an ambitious IT and digital transformation that requires a fundamental shift in our applications, infrastructure, support and data analysis to enhance decision making, improve operational efficiency, and deliver on the strategic plan. As part of this shift we are seeking a Low Code Developer to join our team and play a crucial role in our digital transformation initiatives.

This position is open to candidates with varying levels of experience. The ideal candidate will be based in either Ashford, Kent, UK or Cairns, Australia. Other locations may be considered on a case by case basis.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be one of the first developers in our team of data and automation specialists, with a focus on building skills within the team and sharing knowledge. You can expect a highly varied role, working in an environment consisting of a wide range of technologies with a lot of room for innovation. A big part of the role is education, advocacy, and consultancy within and outside of the team.

  • Process Development: Collaborate with business and key stakeholders to contribute to the development of new and existing enterprise and mission-critical solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices in security, scalability, availability, and performance.
  • Custom Integrations: Develop custom integrations for internal firm services, enhancing the functionality of our systems.
  • Participate in Projects: Actively participate in projects across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from inception to deployment.
  • Support Live Systems: Provide support for live systems, ensuring their stability and performance.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
  • Low-Code Working Groups: Collaborate with firm-wide low-code working groups to exchange knowledge and best practices.
  • Exposure to Senior Leadership: Gain exposure to senior leadership within the organization, contributing to strategic decision-making.
  • Team Leadership: As the team of developers grows, you will have the opportunity to lead and develop the capabilities of the team.
  • Flexibility: Enjoy flexible work arrangements, allowing you to work from your base location either in the UK or Australia.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience and a solid understanding of various integration techniques
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering wireframes, design mockups, vision boarding, user workflows, functional specifications, and style guides
  • Familiarity with working in an Agile Software Development model
  • Knowledge in object-oriented or model-driven development
  • Working knowledge of Git and SVN
  • Experience with RDBMS, including SQL Server

Desirable:

  • Hold the a Rapid Developer certification as a testament to your proficiency, (Mendix preferred)
  • Knowledge of distributed enterprise systems concepts and design, including scalability, reliability, and security
  • Proficiency in .NET C#, Powershell, and JAVA
  • Experience with MS Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes (AKS / GKS) is beneficial
