DAI is seeking a Management Accountant to join our busy finance team. This will be a full-time, permanent role. The position will be based in Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Become part of the thriving DAI business, located in spacious, bespoke offices, 30 minutes out of Euston – with excellent rail and motorway links to London and region.
Main purpose of role:
Providing support to the Assistant Financial Controller – EU and Financial Controller and efficiently administering assigned aspects of the general ledger and associated requirements, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, control, and achieving deadlines.
Key tasks, duties, and responsibilities:
To support and maintain all internal controls and procedures within the business.
To ensure balance sheet reconciliations for all assigned account areas are prepared monthly, with identified reconciling items resolved within a reasonable timeframe.
Serve as Payroll and HR liaison and prepare payroll accounting.
Preparation and input of journals and to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained of all transactions entered.
To establish and maintain an adequate document filing approach that would satisfy the External Auditors’ needs and support audit activities.
To ensure that all government legislation and legal requirements are always met.
Recommend areas for improvement in processes, controls, and reporting.
To support preparation and analysis of accurate monthly management accounts and reports.
Qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience:
Essential:
Hold an accounting degree or equivalent in relevant experience.
Actively studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
Extensive, proven experience in an accounting field.
Ability to meet deadlines, work independently and under pressure.
Strong service orientation and service delivery focus with Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Sensitivity in dealing with confidential information.
Be proactive with ability to prioritise and multitask.
High ethical standards.
Desirable:
Experience with Oracle Cloud ERP
The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant experience and benchmarked within employees in the company in similar/same roles and may differ from the advertised salary.
