Job description: We have an exciting opportunity for a part qualified Accountant/Management Accountant to join our client within the Telecoms industry. This role plays a crucial part in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to aid effective decision-making within the organisation. This position involves managing and analysing financial data, preparing reports, and collaborating with various departments to ensure financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis

Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Analyse financial data, identify trends, and provide insights into variances against budgets and forecasts

cost analysis to assess product profitability and identify areas for cost optimization

Budgeting and Forecasting

Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets and forecasts

Monitor budget performance, investigate variances, and provide recommendations for corrective actions

Update forecasts based on changes in business conditions and operational plans

Cost Accounting

Implement and maintain effective cost accounting systems

Track and analyse manufacturing costs, including direct labour, materials, and overhead

Work with operations teams to optimise production costs and improve efficiency

Inventory Management

Monitor and analyse inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and proper valuation

Implement inventory control measures to minimize carrying costs and excess inventory

Collaborate with procurement and production teams to optimise stock levels

Financial Planning and Strategy

Provide financial insights and support for strategic decision-making

Contribute to the development of financial strategies aligned with overall business goals

Assess the financial impact of business initiatives and proposed investments

Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies

Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive analysis and recommendations

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance function

Stay informed about industry best practices and changes in accounting standards

Qualifications and Skills:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; PQ CIMA/ACCA

– Proven experience as a management accountant in the manufacturing industry

– Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes

– Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

– Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel

– Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

Expected salary: £40000 per year
