This role will be to cover maternity leave within the team, on a 16month fixed term contract basis.This role will have an operational focus supporting one of our networks. Reporting to a Network Finance Business Partner you`ll hold a key role within our Network Finance Team. As our Management Accountant specialist, you`ll form close relationships with Operational and Commercial Managers within your specific area of responsibility. Alongside this, you`ll provide comprehensive financial support to managers to make good, well informed financial decisions.You`ll ensure that financial processes relevant to your area of responsibility are fit for purpose and operated in a consistent and controlled way It’s a role which will give you variety, challenge and plenty of scope for learning.What you’ll get to work on:
- Providing support and advice to Operational Managers by providing insight into financial performance
- Proactively review financial information to identify opportunities for performance improvements and help drive operational efficiencies.
- Manage the monthly reporting cycle for a defined business area.
- Managing the collation, challenge and review of Budget, Forecast and Business Plan data with their area of responsibility
- Work closely with peers to develop and improve processes within Finance.
- Managing the completion of any control activities.
Who are we looking for:
- Qualified accountant with a UK recognised body.
- Financial & commercial acumen combined with relevant post-qualification experience in financial management.
- Written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence and explain financial issues and results to business managers.
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders across the business through collaborative working
- System and ME Excel skills with experience of SAP (or similar finance systems)
- Demonstrable experience of process improvement
- Ability to challenge the norm and is not afraid to propose brave options.
- Experienced in decision-making
