Your Responsibilities

As a Manufacturing Engineer for John Deere Tractor Cab Assembly Operations (TCAO) located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will:

  • Lead the implementation of current product Continuous Improvement (CI) running design changes and support new product and model year changes.
  • Execute Line Balance as a process to develop and deploy new line designs and understand current risk.
  • Lead the analysis, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and technology aligned to the Smart Connect Factory strategy.
  • Lead improvements to support our Distinctive Product Quality (DPQ) initiatives.
  • Drive Continuous Improvements in delivery, uptime, cost and efficiency.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in a Manufacturing position supporting a union workforce.
  • 2 or more years of experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) structure.
  • 3 or more years of experience with process development/deployment, tooling design, fixturing, and workstation layout in a production environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to influence without authority.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience working with Dynamic Line Balancing Tool (DLBT) balancing assembly lines.
  • Experience as a Change Lead or knowledge of the CI Engineering Change Management (ECM) process.
  • Experience with John Deere specific manufacturing software JDAAT (John Deere Assembly Assist Tool), MPP (Manufacturing Process Planner) and SMART Test
  • Project Management experience including budgeting and equipment acquisition.
  • Experience with shop floor manufacturing, incentive pay systems (CIPP), and work measurement.
  • Experience working with robotics.

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering/Technology or equivalent experience.
