Position Description:

This person will perform the duties of manager to ensure that engineering operations run efficiently and effectively. Mentors & supervises staff, participates in developing equipment justifications & payback and ensuring that orders are delivered timely at the highest possible quality level.

Major Responsibilities Include:

  • Process development and control of the manufacturing process approved for production. Responsible for the development & technical requirements that meet both customer and IPC requirements.
  • Mentor & Manage Manufacturing Engineering to maximize efficiency, speed of production, workplace safety, quality and profitability. Be a knowledge base for the team & organization.
  • Ensures manufacturing equipment is maintained and in good operating condition including testing and documentation to customer requirements.
  • Be able to implement / maintain Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs & Process Controls as needed, which should be visible on the respective machines, current and maintained with documented training programs.
  • Reviewing work instructions for acuracy, clarity and completeness that will produce a quality product.
  • Ensure ISO standards are compliant.
  • Interact with senior management and customers driving corrective actions as required.
  • Provide tech analysis and assessment of semi-complete and completed products.
  • Analyze and identify potential areas of improvement in operations and management of procedures.
  • Implement processes and controls assuring efficient production operations.

Educational Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline required.

Experience/Technical/Other Skills Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of experience in the printed circuit board assembly industry.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to communicate effectively to motivate and supervise staff.
  • Individual will review programs and analyze/evaluate element development and/or performance.
  • Provide technical support to develop, execute, and analysis of test objectives.
  • Candidate must be process oriented with attention to details by product.

Required Knowledge

  • IPC Standard surrounding PCBAs, cables & system integration·
  • Manufacturing process design & development
  • Process controls – IPOPQP, FMEA, SPC, etc.
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • FMEA and Statistical process controls
  • 5S / 6S and Lean Manufacturing
  • EMS experience & Class III manufacturing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
